KNX China Holds Second Council Meeting of 2025 at HDL

The release date:2025/6/12 0:00:00

On June 10, the second council meeting of KNX China for 2025 was held at HDL headquarters in Guangzhou. The meeting brought together key industry leaders, including Mr. Casto Canavate, Marketing Director of the KNX International Association; Mr. Liao Wentao, the KNX China Rotating Chairman and General Manager of the Smart Control Department of GVS SMART CO., LTD.; along with representatives from eight council member companies.

The agenda focused on reviewing achievements from the first half of the year and outlining priorities for the remainder of 2025. A major highlight of the meeting was the in-depth discussion of KNX China’s dual-track development strategy, integrating “bringing in” and “going global”.

“Going global” aims to support KNX China members in expanding their international presence by participating in global exhibitions and local marketing activities. In just the first half of this year, KNX China has been actively involved in events such as the Light + Intelligent Building Middle East 2025 (January), 2025 Integrated Systems Europe (February), and ISH 2025 (March), and has conducted productive visits to KNX Germany and the KNX International headquarters.”Bringing In” focuses on attracting international brands to join the KNX China and supporting them in navigating the Chinese market.

Recognizing the challenges Chinese brands often face when expanding abroad, KNX China has invited HDL—a company with a strong global footprint and deep KNX expertise—to join its International Market Promotion Task Force. In this role, HDL will support KNX China member in entering new markets and foster cross-border collaboration in both marketing and technology between KNX China and other KNX national groups.

HDL President Mr. Liu Zhenglin emphasized, “KNX holds immense potential in the smart technology industry. HDL is committed to working hand-in-hand with the KNX Association to drive innovation and deliver better KNX products and solutions to the global market.” That vision is now becoming reality.

HDL’s journey with KNX began in 2006, when it became the first Chinese manufacturer member to join the KNX Association—marking a milestone for China’s participation in international smart standards. In 2017, with over a decade of international experience, HDL strengthened its focus on the domestic KNX market and officially became a KNX China council member. That same year, HDL’s testing center was certified by the KNX Association, becoming China’s first manufacturer-operated, KNX-certified testing facility and the 16th independent KNX lab worldwide.

Over the past two decades, HDL has remained dedicated to advancing KNX technology, evolving into a cornerstone of the KNX ecosystem. Through consistent investment and strict adherence to KNX protocols, HDL is now a shareholder member of the KNX Association, playing a vital role in shaping its global strategies.

Today, HDL KNX solutions have been implemented in thousands of projects worldwide—from the National Theatre in Prague, to the largest dairy plant SÜTAŞ in Europe, the O2 InterContinental Hotel in UK, and Metro Line 13 in Beijing. These landmark projects are a testament to the global competitiveness of HDL KNX technology—and a clear symbol of how Chinese smart control brands are making their mark on the world stage.
