State Opera Prague

Published date:2021/4/19 18:24:23

Located in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, The State Opera Prague is built in the latter half of 19th century with a Neo-Rococo interior decor, and outshines other buildings in the interior design expression, including a larger stage and a higher seating capacity than any other theatre venue in Prague, which still holds true today. As one of the oldest state-owned cultural heritages in the Czech Republic, there is no doubt that this building is considered a landmark of Prague.

When it comes to a building, the most important thing to create an exhilirating performance is to generate the required lighting.

So in order to help the State Opera provide audience with an immersive experience, and to meet the needs of not affecting the lighting effects due to signal distortion or interference, HDL team offered a perfect, proven and easy-to-use KNX lighting control system with emphasis on modular and bus solutions.

The lighting of the opera often is required to be constantly changed according to the performance plot and stage atmosphere, so HDL used the DALI modules to support lighting technicians to flexibly control the lighting equipment there. During the performance, the   lighting technicians can easily achieve the precise linear control of the color temperature and brightness of the lighting under the stage according to the development of the plot, so as to provide a connection and interaction between lighting scenes and stage space for spectators, director and lighting technicians., allowing the audience to obtain visual and sensory enjoy.

Besides, the lighting control system of the opera can help to reduce tedious actions by grouping and multi-scene control. According to different scene requirements, various specific scene modes can be preset in the system so as to realize lighting effects in different scenes with one-click. If there is a need to exaggerate a certain atmosphere during the performance, the staff can turn on the designated mode through the panel with one-click, so that the redundant lights will be turned off and at the same time the required equipment in a specific range will be turned on, making the audience feel as though they are there and experiencing what the actors experienced.

Moreover, the lighting control system is designed to help to save energy and reduce consumption for this building. The system can detect the status of the lighting equipment in real time, such as light brightness, power consumption, scene mode status, damage or failure, and then transmit the information to the console, so that the administrators no longer have to spend time patrolling to find out which light is not turned off or which bulb is damaged. Therefore, this can not only greatly save human resources and costs, but also effectively use power resources to truly realize intelligent lighting control.

For this State Opera, lighting control is significant and for large buildings such as museums, schools, transportation hubs, exhibition centers, and urban complexes, lighting control cannot be ignored. At present, HDL has helped a large number of projects to achieve intelligent lighting control, including Dubai International Airport, the Great Hall of the People, Museum of Wuhan Iron and Steel (Group) Corp., etc., which can meet a variety of lighting control needs and also achieve high efficiency and low energy consumption.
