Smart Control for Meselas Facility in Turkiye

Published date:2026/9/29 21:45:05

Meselas is a modern green tire manufacturing company with a total site area of approximately 1 million square meters, including 100,000 square meters of production facilities. With workshops, warehouses, offices and other functional areas across the site, the facility requires a lighting system that can adapt to different environments while remaining efficient and easy to manage. To meet these needs, HDL developed KNX smart control solution that brings lighting management across the facility together through a flexible and centrally controlled system.

One System for Different Lighting Needs

Different areas of the Meselas facility require different lighting strategies. Warehouses need efficient lighting that can respond to occupancy, while offices require adjustable brightness and color temperature for a more comfortable working environment. Corridors, meanwhile, need lighting that responds to movement while maintaining safe circulation.

HDL KNX system connects these different requirements within one system. In corridors, infrared sensors monitor occupancy, light levels and temperature. Lights can automatically switch on when people enter an area and switch off after a preset delay when the area is vacant.

In offices and meeting rooms, combined PIR, brightness and temperature sensors enable more precise control through configurable logic. For example, lighting can be triggered only when the illuminance falls below a set level and the space is occupied, helping avoid unnecessary lighting during the day.

Flexible Lighting Control, from Automatic to Manual

The system also provides precise control over both brightness and color temperature. With HDL DALI controllers deployed across the facility, each supporting up to 64 DALI devices and DT8 color temperature control, lighting can be adjusted according to the needs of different spaces and activities.

Employees can also take control when needed. Through HDL Tile Series Panels, they can manually adjust lighting or switch between predefined scenes such as Daytime Working and Break Time. Meanwhile, the control system provides an overview of lighting status across the facility, making monitoring and management more convenient.

Smarter Lighting, Better Working Environment

By combining KNX automation, occupancy sensing, daylight-based strategies and DALI lighting control, the Meselas facility can avoid unnecessary lighting while maintaining the right level of illumination for each space. For the factory, this means lower energy consumption in frequently used public areas and more efficient long-term operation. For employees, adjustable brightness and color temperature provide a more comfortable environment for extended periods of work.
