With the new 230-bed hospital built specifically to cater to the children and families of Victoria, particular care was taken to ensure that a warm, friendly, and welcoming environment was maintained throughout the building.
A key element in creating this sense of wellbeing was the installation of HDL KNX lighting solutions.
As illumination is critical in shaping how a room is perceived, iAutomation sought to imbue each area with an atmosphere conducive to relaxation and healing.
The iAutomation team told us that:
“Our principal task was to establish the precise lighting requirements of every room, taking into account young patients’ sensitivities, the need to accommodate 24-hour occupancy at varying activity levels, security considerations, as well as a desire to achieve the greatest possible energy efficiency.”
They went on to add that: “This substantial lighting project clearly demonstrates how advanced automated lighting functions are pivotal to the everyday performance and appearance of modern healthcare facilities.”
