In early 2019, 3Lateral was acquired by the American gaming giant Epic Games. Their official building occupies approximately 6,500 square metres of space over six floors. The company sought intelligent upgrades to enhance the office environment as well as reduce energy costs. After thorough comparisons, they ultimately chose HDL to achieve their goals.
Smart Control of All Devices
HDL KNX system independently controls the building's temperature, lighting, curtains and so on. Each office within the building is equipped with Granite Series panels, offering convenient control over all devices and scene modes.
Adaption to seasonal changes
One of the system's standout features is its ability to adapt to the changing seasons, automatically adjusting blinds to optimize energy usage. During the scorching summer months, the system lowers blinds to minimize heat gain, while in winter, it raises them to capitalize on natural light and warmth.
Different working modes
Upon the departure of staff, the system automatically adjusts all devices. It switches off all unnecessary lights, transitions the air-conditioning system to standby mode, and provides real-time feedback on the status of open windows through software. Before staff arrival, the system regulates indoor temperature by adjusting the air conditioning and blinds accordingly. Additionally, all systems can be remotely controlled via computer or mobile applications, offering convenience and flexibility to users.
By efficiently managing temperature, lighting, and other building systems, the project has successfully achieved the goal of reducing electricity costs while simultaneously enhancing comfort levels. The automated control features, coupled with remote accessibility have streamlined building operations and contributed to a more sustainable and user-friendly environment.
