Published date:2023/6/28 2:43:47

The Hawkes Bay Aquatic Centre, nestled within the Mitre 10 Park in Hastings, stands as a remarkable testament to architectural brilliance and technological innovation. This world-class swimming and water sports venue has garnered national acclaim, earning the distinction of being “a building of national significance." At the heart of its success lies the installation of world standard KNX smart lighting system, revolutionizing lighting management within the facility.

Unveiling Unparalleled Features:

The scale of the project demanded a lighting system that would meet the special lighting requirements of the Aquatic Centre. The KNX smart lighting system emerged as the ideal solution, offering unparalleled features that would enhance both functionality and aesthetics.

Precise Lighting Full Control:

The Aquatic Centre boasts a ten-lane 50-meter FINA World Championship/Olympic standard pool. To ensure optimal lighting conditions for various events, including national and international swimming competitions, the KNX system enables precise control over the lighting around the pool, like switching, and dimming the lights. This flexibility allows for effortless adjustments, catering to the specific needs of athletes and spectators alike.

Lighting Scenes Control:

With multiple lighting scenes designed specifically for different events, the KNX system allows for seamless transitions between different lighting configurations. From the exciting atmosphere of a high-stakes race to the serene ambience of family swimming, the lighting scenes can be effortlessly adapted to create the desired mood and enhance the overall spectator experience.

Automatic Induction Control:

Safety and convenience go hand in hand at the Hawkes Bay Aquatic Centre. The KNX system incorporates automatic induction control of aisle lighting, ensuring that pathways remain well-lit for users. This feature not only enhances safety but also minimizes energy consumption by activating lighting only when necessary, contributing to a sustainable and eco-friendly environment.

Security and Fire Integrated Control:

The smart lighting system seamlessly integrates with the Aquatic Centre's safety and fire systems. In the event of an emergency, the KNX system can be synchronized to activate appropriate lighting configurations, guiding spectators towards emergency exits and ensuring a swift and orderly evacuation.

The KNX smart lighting system has revolutionized lighting management and control, making it easier and smoother than ever to create the perfect environment for athletes, spectators, and visitors alike. With its commitment to excellence, the Hawkes Bay Aquatic Centre continues to shine as a beacon of innovation and design in the realm of aquatic sports.
