Hawaikirangi, located in East Tamaki, Auckland, stands as the largest television studio floor and production training facility in the region. As the main studio for Whakaata Māori, it plays a pivotal role in producing native language content for Auckland’s Aboriginal people.

The facility boasts two studios, offices, audience and guest hosting areas, and live broadcast facilities. With such a dynamic environment, Hawaikirangi needed a solution to enhance its operational efficiency and improve the overall user experience.

In response to the studio's unique requirements, HDL introduced the KNX lighting control system. This comprehensive solution addressed diverse functional areas within Hawaikirangi:
Public Areas: Leveraging advanced PIR & LUX sensors, the lighting seamlessly switches on/off based on occupancy and ambient light levels, reducing the energy consumption of the studio by preventing unnecessary use of lighting.

Implementing the HDL KNX lighting control system at Hawaikirangi has seen remarkable improvements in its operational efficiency, with the adaptive flexibility of the system being particularly well-received. Through this innovative solution, Hawaikirangi has successfully elevated the functionality and sustainability of its creative space.
