PAK'nSAVE Warkworth in New Zealand

Located on the corner of State Highway 1 and Hudson Road in New Zealand, PAK’nSAVE Warkworth opened in mid-2023. With an expansive 5300 square meters footprint, the store was designed to encompass all facets of a modern supermarket, including innovative features like a convenient click-and-collect drive-through and an impressive 170 dedicated customer parking spaces. But, the most important part is an automation system for customer convenience and energy efficiency.

Customized Lighting system

In partnership with HDL, PAK'nSAVE Warkworth has integrated the HDL KNX smart lighting control system, customized to meet the unique needs of the store. This advanced system goes beyond mere illumination; it dynamically adjusts the lighting environment to create an optimal shopping atmosphere.

Different needs, Different functions

● ln the retail area, DALI gateways enable dynamic color temperature control, while PIR & Lux sensors intelligently manage lighting levels based on ambient light and human presence. This means that as customers move through the store, the lighting adapts, ensuring perfect brightness levels while maximizing energy savings by harnessing natural light whenever possible.

● The innovation extends to the store's warehouse, where lighting is efficiently controlled through the 0~10V Dimming Actuator. This seamless integration with the Building Management System (BMS) allows for automated scheduling of lighting adjustments based on time and demand, further enhancing energy efficiency and operational productivity.
