Seeing the unprecedented demand for high-end talent in support of the development of Hong Kong and the world, HKUST is looking to push the boundaries and forge bridges across disciplines to develop leaders who aspire to make a difference. To conceive this new vision of HKUST, the University signed a tripartite agreement with the Guangzhou Municipal Government and Guangzhou University in 2018. Under the agreement, the University will jointly establish HKUST(GZ) in the Nansha district of Guangzhou with the full support of the local authority and partner.

Smart Lighting for Public Area

HDL realize the smart lighting control of 15 teaching buildings, 25 dormitories and the public area of school gym. Firstly, in all corridors, HDL has installed presence sensors every 8 meters, achieving full coverage lighting without blind spots. Secondly, illuminance sensors are installed near all windows, automatically adjusting the brightness of the lighting according to natural lighting conditions. This provides students with a more comfortable learning and living environment while conserving energy.

Various Scenes for Different Needs

HDL has also set various one-touch scene modes for classrooms, libraries, and offices based on the usage habits of the school environment. These include bright mode, break mode, projection mode, study mode, and overtime mode, fully meeting the needs of different groups and scenarios.

The comprehensive scene settings not only consider the practical needs of daily learning and activities but also achieve more efficient and convenient automation management. With HDL's support, HKUST(GZ) enjoys an intelligent and comfortable lighting environment, significantly enhancing the school's facility management level.
